Welcome! The goal for our web site is to provide helpful information to people interested in hiring a nanny or working as a nanny. While we specifically serve the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area in Minnesota, much of this information will be useful to people anywhere in the country.

We help families in our area to recruit, screen and hire qualified persons to help care for their children in their (the family's) home. We help them to structure their jobs to appeal to the best applicants.

We help nannies find great jobs with excellent families that will treat them as true child care professionals. Our families consistently offer the most attractive salary and benefits packages in this area.

Nannies may live with the family (live-in) or commute to the home each day from their own home or apartment (live-out). The nannies are usually from our local area or state but they may also come from other states. We also help local nannies looking for positions elsewhere in the country by referring them to other agencies that subscribe to the Recommended Practices published by the International Nanny Association (INA).

We are a large agency with a proven track record, an excellent reputation, and an extensive network of families and nannies. Mary O'Connor, owner of Nannies from the Heartland, is a nationally recognized and respected leader within the in-home child care industry. Mary has served two terms as the President of the International Nanny Association (INA), the oldest, best known and largest professional organization for the in-home child care industry.

NOTE:

Although we do place men as nannies, the vast majority of nannies are women. Therefore, throughout this web site we refer to nannies as "she" rather than using the awkward expression "she/he".
