Mary O'Connor, owner of Nannies from the Heartland, is a nationally recognized and respected leader within the in-home child care industry. Mary has served two terms as the President of the International Nanny Association (INA), the oldest, best known and largest professional organization for the in-home child care industry.

Our placement counselors are experienced nannies, well educated, professionally trained and committed to providing excellent service.   Both Becky Kavanagh and Kelly Miller have been a part of our team for almost 10 years.  Additional office staff assist families and nannies with basic questions, take messages and perform clerical duties.

Nannies may live with the family (live-in) or commute to the home each day from their own home or apartment (live-out). The nannies are usually from our local area or state but they may also come from other states. We also help local nannies looking for positions elsewhere in the country by referring them to other agencies that subscribe to the Recommended Practices published by the International Nanny Association (INA).

NOTE: Although we do place men as nannies, the vast majority of nannies are women. Therefore, throughout this web site we refer to nannies as "she" rather than using the awkward expression "she/he".
